Hard Rock Cafe is moving to a prime piece of Hollywood real estate. Except there’s already a Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood. It’s at Universal CityWalk in Universal City.

As reported in our sister blog, L.A. Land, the chain will open a restaurant next year on Hollywood Boulevard inside the Hollywood & Highland Center. The 20,000-square-foot cafe, near the Kodak Theatre, will feature 500 seats, a live concert area and a store selling items from the company’s well-known music memorabilia collection. (The first Hard Rock Cafe in the U.S. launched in the Beverly Center in 1982 before closing in 2006.)

The new addition to the restaurant group will be known as Hard Rock Cafe Los Angeles, even though it’s in Hollywood. This must be what it’s like when two starlets show up at a premiere wearing the same dress.
