It’s not often that taggers are invited to do their stuff by the authorities, but youngsters in Tampico in the northern state of Tamaulipas, Mexico, were asked to do just that -- for health reasons.

The young winners of a graffiti competition from the city were asked to perform their version of art on the walls of the state-owned Center of Well-Being, according to newspaper Milenio, and they were requested to focus on the theme of health and the work of the Mexican Institute of Security, or IMSS.

The exercise was an attempt to channel the creative passion of Mexico’s neglected youth into something that benefits the whole community, according to a spokesman quoted in the piece.
