L.A Times editorial: We need comprehensive immigration reform

October 5, 2008 |  9:48 am

In rounding up "illegal immigrants convicted of crimes or linked to criminal gangs -- including about 400 in the Los Angeles area -- the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has made life safer for the residents of terrorized neighborhoods. But the four-month sweep, part of Operation Community Shield, also demonstrates the need for comprehensive immigration reform, including legal status for most of the estimated 12 million people in this country illegally," says this Los Angeles Times editorial.

Yes, a comprehensive immigration reform is in dire need for all of the hard working people that come here to help this US economy keep running. They come here, help us out and it is a sad reality that some people can't see the value in that. I personally know many people that would greatly benefit from a reform to keep them from risking their lives, rape or worse. I think we can all be humane about this issue if only we reflect and put ourselves in their shoes. What if your country didn't provide for you or your children? What would you really do? I guess some people will never get a taste of this concept, well, it doesn't hurt to be considerate.

Entering this country illegally makes them all criminals.

The only immigration reform needed is to not allow anyone coming here illegally to stay.
