Dominicans in Upper Manhattan talk elections back home

Chatter about elections is rife in Upper Manhattan. But New York City's Dominican Republic population isn't talking Hillary and Obama, but Leonel Fernández, who is vying for a third four-year term as president of the Caribbean nation in elections being held Friday.

"For the second consecutive election there, Dominicans abroad, including several thousand in Upper Manhattan, will be eligible to vote. The area, which has played host to President Fernández and held merengue-infused campaign rallies, seems a little like the Dominican Republic’s northernmost province." NYT
