All about the Merida Initiative

May 15, 2008 |  5:06 pm

The Woodrow Wilson Center's Mexico Institute is offering a new Web resource about the Merida Initiative, President Bush's plan to create a new security partnership with Mexico and Central American countries. Congress is mulling the proposal, which is coming under heavy fire from conservative Republicans who feel the plan's $1.6 billion would be better spent on U.S. border security. The new portal includes background, analysis from different points of view, links to hearings and other resources.
