This Los Angeles Times editorial today comments on Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s request yesterday that the federal government review its immigration enforcement policies.

According to the editorial, the mayor is right to ask the Department of Homeland Security to focus on crime-fighting instead of workplace raids, arguing that the arrests of employees who are suspected of no crime other than being in the country illegally is shaking the region’s already fragile economy.
