This just in: More guilty verdicts in Black Widows case

Widows_2 A jury today gave Los Angeles prosecutors an across-the-board win in the Black Widows case. Olga Rutterschmidt, 75, was found guilty on two final counts of murdering a second homeless man for millions in life insurance. Today's verdicts on murder and conspiracy charges were for the 1999 death of Paul Vados, 73. More details from The Times' Victoria Kim:

Last week, Rutterschmidt was convicted of murder and conspiracy for the 2005 death of Kenneth McDavid. Also last week, her co-defendant, Helen Golay, 77, was convicted of all four counts against her for the deaths of both men.The two men died in staged hit-and-run accidents, according to the prosecution. Their mangled bodies were found in alleys in Hollywood and Westwood. Both women face life in prison without possibility of parole.

Arrest made in L.A. bus stop shootings

Police arrested a member of the 48th Street Crips tonight in connection with Wednesday's shooting at a South Los Angeles bus stop. Three adults and five children were wounded in the attack.

The motive? Trying to boost his reputation as an enforcer, LAPD officers say. Ari B. Bloomekatz and Paloma Esquivel have the full story.

Man pleads guilty in beheading case

A man accused of beheading a Hollywood screenwriter and fatally stabbing his neighbor in a drug-induced rage in 2004 pleaded guilty today to murder, torture and other felonies. Keven Lee Graff, 31, will receive two consecutive life terms in state prison without the possibility of parole for the killings of  of Dr. Morley Engelson, 69, and Robert Lees, 91, one of the first screenwriters to be blacklisted in Hollywood during the McCarthy era.  Andrew Blankstein has the story.
