Woofstock
If there's anything that the Christopher Guest-directed mockumentary "Best in Show" taught us, it's that the relationship between a dog and their human is complicated. With that in mind, when photographer Nicola Buck took this photo of a pink wig-wearing dog with its owner at Woofstock in Beverly Hills, I felt it captured true devotion in spring.

Basketball at Sunset in San Pedro
Capturing a perfect "will they or won't they" moment doesn't happen often, but for photographers in the right place and time, the photo can feel special. Such is the case for photographer Amparo Rios, who wrote of this photo, "I feel very lucky when I am shooting and suddenly a moment like this appears in front of my lens." Rios was at the Angels Gate Recreation Center in San Pedro and caught this shot around sunset.

Holi
Those who weren't gearing up for the L.A. Marathon — or drinking their weight in Guinness — found other events to take part in this past weekend: Flickr user Greg Jacobs attended the Festival of Colors in Norwalk with his Olympus OM-D and captured this colorful scene. Otherwise known as Holi, a tradition in India, this festival marks the beginning of spring by throwing colors — here, a mixture of food dyes and cornstarch — into the air.
