Three suspects in a Pasadena home-invasion robbery and kidnapping have been arrested after a shootout with sheriff’s deputies, and at least one could face charges of attempted murder of a peace officer, authorities said.

The shootout occurred about 12:20 p.m. Thursday, when a car rammed into an undercover sheriff’s vehicle that was investigating the robbery and kidnapping, according to the Pasadena Police Department. At least one of the men from the car shot at the deputies, who returned fire.

No one was injured, but the men got away, and a swath of Pasadena between Lake and Hill Avenues was blocked off as police searched for them. Two of the suspects were arrested that afternoon in Pasadena, and the third was arrested that evening in Arcadia.

All three were booked with kidnapping with intent to commit robbery and probably will face an additional charge of attempted murder of a peace officer, Lt. Ed Calatayud said.

Calatayud said he could not identify the suspects, but other news accounts have named them as Marquice Garrett, 19, Paul Scott, 31, and Eddie McFadden, 20.

Garrett and Scott are being held on $1-million bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department website, and no bail amount was listed for McFadden.

According to City News Service, the perpetrators held two women captive Tuesday night at a home in the 1900 block of North Arroyo Boulevard. The next morning, a bank employee saw one of the women withdrawing money, apparently under duress, and notified police, CNS reported.
