Authorities are searching for a man suspected of shooting at a San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy.

Brian David Forrett, 52, allegedly began shooting at the deputy after he confronted Forrett on 2nd Street in Yucaipa about 11:20 a.m. Friday, according to Crpl. Randy Naquin of the Sheriff’s Department. The deputy had been called to remove Forrett from the premises.

After the deputy took cover and returned fire, Forrett reportedly got into his white Buick and rammed the officer’s patrol car before driving off, authorities said.

The investigation is ongoing.
