A man who was stabbed to death during a brawl outside a Santa Ana restaurant Saturday afternoon has been identified, police said.

Paul Garcia, 26, of Irvine was fatally wounded when he was assaulted near the intersection of Main and Commercial streets, police said. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Garcia was inside the restaurant in the 1900 block of South Main Street when two suspects entered and had a confrontation with him, according to a police statement. The suspects eventually exited the restaurant, and Garcia left shortly after that.

One of the suspects then chased Garcia across the street and assaulted him, police said. Garcia then collapsed on the street, where officers found him.

The suspects, who have not been identified, remain at large.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Santa Ana Homicide Unit at (714) 245-8390.
