A 4-year-old boy was shot and critically injured Friday night in northwest Pasadena, and the gunman remains at large, police said.

The boy was in the garage of a house in the 1800 block of North Summit Avenue when three men opened fire at around 9 p.m., said Pasadena Police Lt. Ed Calatayud. Bullets penetrated the garage, striking the boy in the torso and also injuring two men.

The boy is being treated at a local hospital, Calatayud said. The men’s injuries were not life-threatening -- one was hit in the arm and the other was grazed.

No arrests have been made, and the motive for the shootings is unknown, police said.
