Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, so don’t forget to set clocks ahead one hour before going to sleep Saturday.

Los Angeles Fire Department officials reminded people that it’s also a good time to check the batteries on smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. It just takes a minute and can save lives, fire officials say.
