O.C. teen gets jail time for making bomb threat at high school
Christopher Michael Casey, 18, was charged with leaving the Dec. 14 note saying a bomb was hidden at Huntington Beach High School and set to detonate at an unspecified time, according to the Orange County district attorney's office.
A secretary found the note and alerted the principal, who called police. Officers arrested Casey at the school. No explosive device was found, according to prosecutors.
Casey pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of reporting a false bomb threat and was sentenced to 140 days in jail and six years of formal probation. He was also ordered to stay at least 200 yards from the high school.
