Reader photos: Seagulls rest on the L.A. River in Vernon

Scmfeb19In the city of Vernon, Timo Saarelma encountered a flock of seagulls as he walked along the L.A. River shortly before sunset on Feb. 13. The shadows and the reflections in the water emphasized the peacefulness of the moment, he said. Saarelma took this photo with a Canon EOS 7D.
