Pit bulls apparently kill 91-year-old woman at motel
In what investigators have initially called a "horrific accident," a 91-year-old Desert Hot Springs woman apparently was mauled to death by her two pit bulls.
The woman, Elsie Grace, had been staying with her son and their two pit bulls in a Motel 6 in the 3900 block of West Florida Avenue and was attacked by the dogs Friday, according to a statement from the Hemet Police Department.
Officers and paramedics arrived at about noon and found the woman with "a great deal of trauma to her body."
"It is believed the victim was mauled and killed by both dogs based upon her injuries," the statement said.
Authorities said the dogs were taken by animal control.
