Hundreds of motorcyclists briefly jammed traffic across the 210 Freeway in Duarte on Sunday afternoon after two riders fell, police said.

Shortly after 1 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received several calls that between 100 and 300 motorcycles had stopped on the freeway just west of the 605 Freeway interchange, said Officer Tatiana Sauquillo.

Two riders had fallen from their bikes and hundreds of others were blocking traffic and doing stunts in an apparent effort to give the fallen riders time to move to the side of the road, Sauquillo said.

Paramedics treated the two riders for minor injuries, while the others rode to a nearby mall parking lot a few minutes before CHP officers arrived, according to Sauquillo.

Traffic on the 210 was moving again within about 20 minutes.
