Motorcylist killed in a possible racing accident, police say

A motorcyclist was killed in a possible racing accident early Saturday morning in Van Nuys, police said.

The crash involving multiple motorcycles occurred about 3:40 a.m. on Woodley Avenue north of Burbank Boulevard, said Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department.

"It looks like they were racing," Herrera said. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, she said.

Another person sustained unknown injuries and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Herrera said.
