Man killed in Valentine's Day shooting in Maywood

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were searching Friday for a suspect who fatally shot a man in Maywood.

The shooting occurred about 8:20 p.m. Thursday in the 3700 block of Slauson Avenue by the unidentified suspect.

Authorities said the victim, who was not identified, died at the scene and that no other details were immediately available.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s department homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. Tips can be given anonymously at (800) 222-8477.
