Man's body found in burning car in Westchester

Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a burning car in Westchester early Friday, officials said.

Firefighters responding to a burning-vehicle report in the 5400 block of West 99th Street shortly before 4:30 a.m. discovered the body inside, said Los Angeles police officer Diana Figueroa.

No information was immediately available about the victim, said Los Angeles County coroner's spokesman Ed Winter. The death was reported as a possible homicide, he added.

Investigators remained on scene Friday morning.
