Man killed in apparent gang-related shooting in Compton

A man was shot and killed in Compton this weekend in what authorities believe was a gang-related incident.

The adult male victim was found in a vehicle in the 100 block of Peck Street with multiple gunshot wounds  about noon Saturday, authorities said.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said Sgt. Rich Pena of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities suspect a lone gunman was responsible.
