Man missing from snorkeling boat found dead near Santa Cruz Island

A 50-year-old man who had been missing from a snorkeling boat for four hours was found dead Friday afternoon near Santa Cruz Island, the Coast Guard said.

The man, whose name was not released, was reported missing from a 22-foot dive boat named the Coram Deo about 12:20 p.m. that day, the Coast Guard said.

Fellow divers discovered his body, and authorities helped to retrieve it. The dive boat is docked in Santa Barbara.
