February 26, 2013 | 10:27 am

One person was killed and another hospitalized after a house fire Tuesday morning in Hawthorne, fire officials said.

Firefighters were called to the 3500 block of West 135th Street just before 6:15 a.m. and discovered smoke and flames coming from a bedroom, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

One person was pronounced dead at the home, the department said, and another person was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. Four dogs were also found dead at the scene.

Crews remained on the scene at mid-morning. An arson team from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was sent to investigate the origins of the blaze. No information about a possible cause was immediately available.
