Mayoral candidate Eric Garcetti is on the air Thursday with two new 15-second television ads touting his endorsement by the Los Angeles Times.

The ads show images of Sunday’s editorial page, and pictures of Garcetti with constituents. A narrator reads passages from the endorsement that said Garcetti, of all the mayoral contenders, showed the most potential for leading Los Angeles, and that praised Garcetti’s efforts on the budget, pension reform and neighborhood revitalization.

“The L.A. Times calls Garcetti the best choice for mayor. Eric Garcetti for mayor. Problem solver. Proven results,’ the narrator concludes in one of the ads.

The ads, which can be seen here and here, are the third and fourth television spots Garcetti is running in the mayor’s race. The first two ads were introductory pieces, one in English and one in Spanish. The city councilman is spending more than $600,000 this week airing ads, according to a Democratic media consultant who is not working for any of the candidates.
