Fatal helicopter crash occurred on movie ranch

A helicopter crash that killed three people Sunday morning near Acton occurred on a ranch used by production companies to film movies, television shows and commercials, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 4 a.m. at the Polsa Rosa Ranch, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department and an official with the Federal Aviation Administration.

Filming was reportedly underway on the ranch at the time of the crash.

“The helicopter, a Bell 206, crashed under unknown circumstances,” according to an email from Allen Kenitzer of the FAA.

He said the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board would be investigating the fatal crash.
