Diamond Bar band teacher held in sex assault of 16-year-old girl

A 33-year-old high school band teacher was arrested in Diamond Bar on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl, authorities said Tuesday night.

Albert Anthony Morales allegedly assaulted the girl in the summer of 2006 during a period in which the girl attended Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

Morales, who lives in Diamond Bar, has been a percussion instructor for the last 13 years and taught or volunteered at Sunny Hills High, Diamond Bar High School and Diamond Ranch High School in Pomona, according to the department.

Morales was arrested at his home on Tuesday, authorities said in a statement.

Detectives said that there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to call (323) 890-5500. Anonymous tips can be left at (800) 222-8477.
