Two killed as SUV crashes into tree, catches fire in Valley

Two people were killed early Thursday when a sport utility vehicle veered off the road, hit a tree and caught fire in the San Fernando Valley, police said.

The crash on North Glenoaks Boulevard near Cabrini Drive was reported about 2:30 a.m., said Sgt. David Delgado of the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Information about the victims was not immediately available.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
