Light snow and lingering fog may make driving through the Grapevine on Interstate 5 difficult Monday morning, but forecasters said weather across the rest of the region could be summed up in one word: windy.

Wind advisories were in effect for much of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, with gusts expected to reach 30-40 mph, said David Bruno, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Foothill areas in the San Gabriel and San Fernando valleys could see even stronger winds, Bruno said, with gusts hitting 60 mph.

‘That could cause some problems,’ he said.

The snow along the Grapevine could cause ‘some problems during the morning commute,’ Bruno said, but was expected to clear up by 10 a.m.

Temperature-wise, Los Angeles County would hover around 65 degrees Monday with sunny skies, Bruno said. Tuesday was expected to be even warmer, with temperatures in the lower 70s possible for valley areas and parts of the interior coast.

‘Tomorrow could be a really nice day,’ Bruno said.
