Gunman sought in Adelanto shooting that left one dead

Authorities are searching for a gunman after a 17-year-old boy was fatally shot and a second person wounded by gunfire Tuesday night in Adelanto.

San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call of a shooting in the 18100 block of Casaba Road in Adelanto.

Authorities pronounced Matthew Joseph Barry, 17, dead at the scene. A second victim, Sabastian Farnsworth, 20, was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, authorities said.

The identity of the gunman is not known, nor is the motive, according to deputies.
