Man shot by San Diego police after domestic violence call

January 12, 2013 |  7:07 pm

A suspect in a domestic violence case was shot by San Diego police after he fled into a movie theater in the Carmel Mountain Ranch neighborhood, officials said Saturday.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. No police were hurt.

The incident began as a dispute between a man and woman at a Mexican restaurant nearby. The man chased the woman into the parking lot, then, as police arrived, he fled into the theater, witnesses said.

Police ordered the movie shut down and searched for the suspect, leading to a confrontation.
