Marine recruit caught running across runway at San Diego airport

A recruit who may have had second thoughts about joining the Marine Corps was caught Thursday morning running across the runway at San Diego's Lindbergh Field, adjacent to the boot camp.

The recruit had arrived Monday and was undergoing initial screening before beginning training, the Marine Corps said. The recruit's name was not released. He was caught by local law enforcement.

The Marine Corps "is cooperating fully with local authorities," boot camp officials said in a statement.
