A lockdown was lifted Monday at a Long Beach middle school after a report of a man with a gun on or around campus, school officials said.

Bancroft Middle School at 5301 Centralia St. was locked down about 11:30 a.m., according to a bulletin posted on the school’s website.

‘We followed our safety procedures, and with the help of police and school safety, we conducted a thorough search of the campus, but have found no such unauthorized person on campus,’ the alert said.

The campus lifted the lockdown shortly before 2 p.m. as police searched the neighborhood. No arrests were reported.
