Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near San Lucas

A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Saturday morning 14 miles from San Lucas in Central California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:49 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 4.3 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 14 miles from New Idria, 16 miles from King City and 94 miles from San Jose City Hall.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
