Three burned in explosion at possible drug lab in San Diego

Hotel_explosion
Three people were burned Wednesday in an explosion in an Ocean Beach area motel room that may have been used as a drug lab.

The explosion at the Heritage Motel blew out windows in more than a dozen rooms. Fire spread to adjoining rooms in the three-story motel.

San Diego police, firefighters and officers from the Narcotics Task Force responded to the 11:15 a.m. explosion as residents were evacuated. Of the three people in the room, one was listed in critical condition with burns from head to toe.

Investigators are looking at the possibility that the three were extracting marijuana oil when the explosion occurred, possibly because one or more of the three was smoking.
