San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 20000 block of Cayuga Road at 4:16 p.m. Sunday in response to a report of a child suffering from a seizure after ingesting chili powder. The girl was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The autopsy will determine the cause of death, officials said.

A sheriff’s spokeswoman said Sorensen is the girlfriend of the child’s father, KTLA-TV reported.
