Armed robbers strike San Dimas jewelry store, remain at large

Five armed men wearing ski masks and bandannas stormed a San Dimas jewelry store Friday afternoon and escaped with at least $5,000 worth of merchandise, authorities said.

The robbery In the 400 block of Arrow Highway began when a female accomplice entered the store and held a security door opened for the five armed men, said Lt. Andrew Berg of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The men ordered employees to the floor and smashed display cases. They then stuffed jewelry into their backpacks and pockets and also looted an office, Berg said.

The suspects escaped in what authorities believe is an older model gray Toyota Camry with paper license plates.

Berg said no one was injured, but the suspects, who appeared to be in their 20s, remained at large. He said detectives would review any surveillance video that might be available.
