Woman fights back, escapes kidnappers in Encinitas
A young woman in Encinitas escaped being kidnapped Monday by punching one abductor and biting another on the ear, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The 18-year-old was walking along a neighborhood street about 1:30 p.m. when a small pickup truck began following her, authorities said. A young man jumped from the truck and attempted to force her into the truck where two men were waiting.
The woman escaped by punching the driver and biting another man. She ran to a nearby home and called for help as the truck sped off.
Deputies said the truck was a black, older model pickup with orange stripes on the fenders and gardening equipment in the bed.
