Wife of LAPD chief gets restraining order against homeless woman

Cindy Beck, the wife of Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, has obtained a restraining order against a homeless woman who allegedly threatened to kill her, according to a CBS-TV Channel 2 news report.

The woman, Veronica Roberts, 43, has been taken into custody on suspicion of stalking and is being held on $200,000 bond, according to the report.

Roberts allegedly believed she was being harassed by the police chief, and retaliated by threatening his wife. According to the CBS report and court documents, Roberts reportedly called the chief’s wife on the phone and shouted: “Cindy, I’m gonna kill you! I’m gonna come to your house and pummel you!”
