Woman killed in apartment fire in Ladera Heights

Sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman killed in an apartment fire in Ladera Heights, authorities said.

The fire occurred about 11 p.m. Friday in an apartment complex in the 6700 block of Springpark Avenue, according to a spokeswoman with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The unidentified woman was transported to Centinela Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Shortly after the fire was knocked down, homicide investigators were sent to the scene. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities said.
