San Jose City College on lockdown, reports of a gunman on campus

San Jose City College is on lockdown following reports of a gunman on campus, according to the school's student newspaper and reports from media in Northern California.

Students were told about 5 p.m. to remain inside classrooms by the school's emergency alert system, according to The City College Times. There have been no reports of shots fired.

"The gunman was reported to be on the third floor of the Technology Center, where spotlights periodically entered the windows as the police continued their search for the suspect," according to the College Times.
