Rain to clear by this evening, return Christmas night

Last-minute Christmas shoppers will have to brave the rain Monday morning, but the showers should end by the evening, the National Weather Service said.

Skies should be clear Christmas Day, with rain returning in the evening, the National Weather Service said.

Between a half-inch to one inch of rain could fall over the region. The foothills could see 1 1/2 inches of rain.

More rain is anticipated late Tuesday through Wednesday evening. Temperatures in the region will range from the low to mid-40s Monday night, with highs in the 60s and lows near 50 on Christmas Day.
