Metro Gold Line train collides with vehicle, seriously injuring 1

A Metro Gold Line train collided with a vehicle just after 9 p.m. Monday, leaving the vehicle’s female driver “in serious condition,” a fire official said in a statement.

The collision occurred near the 1300 block of East 1st Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott. On the Fire Department’s blog, Scott said that about 20 passengers were on the train at the time of the collision, but none was hurt.

The injured woman was transferred to a local hospital, he said. Passengers were transferred to another train.

As of about 9:30 p.m. Monday, Scott said there were no further details.
