Man wounded in officer-involved shooting in Long Beach

A man was wounded early Saturday when he was shot by police in Long Beach, authorities said.

About 5 a.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 6800 block of Beechley Avenue, according to KCBS-TV. The shooting occurred shortly after.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition. Long Beach police did not release his name or more details about the shooting.
