Man raped, impregnated disabled woman, police allege

montgomery

Placer County authorities accused a man of raping and impregnating a severely mentally and physically disabled woman.

Marquise Montgomery, 22, had his bail increased from $150,000 to $500,000 on Friday. Prosecutors attributed the increase in bail to something Montgomery allegedly said during questioning.

Montgomery was assigned a public defender and pleaded not guilty.

The alleged assault occurred at a care facility in Penryn, according to Fox 40.

The woman gave birth in February. The baby is said to be doing fine and is healthy.

Montgomery will be back in court on Wednesday.
