Crime alerts for Westwood and four other L.A. neighborhoods
Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in five L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.
Four neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Westwood (A) was the most unusual, recording three reports compared with a weekly average of 0.4 over the last three months.
West Los Angeles (E) was the lone neighborhood with a property-crime alert. It recorded 17 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 8.5 over the last three months.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Dec. 17 to Dec. 23, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
