Two shot, one fatally, in Tarzana house

A 51-year-old woman was killed and a 49-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot at a home in Tarzana on Saturday night.

Los Angeles police arrested 59-year-old Hrant Meguerian and charged him with murder and attempted murder. He is being held on $1-million bail.

The shooting took place about 7:20 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 4500 block of Vanalden Avenue.

Both victims were alive when police arrived, but the woman later died in the hospital. The man remains in the hospital in stable condition.

Police have not yet released the names of the victims.

Meguerian has a Myspace page that says he lives in Van Nuys and has a 51-year-old relative who lives in Tarzana.
