3.9 earthquake strikes near Lake Nacimiento

A shallow magnitude 3.9 earthquake was reported Sunday morning seven miles from Lake Nacimiento, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:02 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.1 miles.

The epicenter was 10 miles from Cambria, 14 miles from San Simeon, 15 miles from Paso Robles and 129 miles from San Jose City Hall, according to the USGS.

In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
