Apparently, L.A. can’t take the heat — er, the lack thereof.

Temperatures dipped below freezing across parts of Southern California Wednesday night, the second night in a row of cold weather. The temperature drop broke at least one record (Lancaster hit 14 degrees, compared to the old low of 15 degrees in 2006) but dented some people’s faith in their year-round warm weather and sunshine.

As local news channels interviewed chilly customers at breakfast spots, others took to Twitter to voice their complaints — or crack a joke at their own expense.

‘LA & Chicago are the same temp right now. Finally I don’t feel like a wimp for being cold,’ tweeted @macbrandt.

And don’t put away those coats just yet: Forecasters said that although Thursday should warm up to the mid-60s, temperatures were again expected to drop overnight and could prompt another round of frost warnings.
