Coast Guard searching for diver off San Diego

The Coast Guard and other rescue personnel are searching off San Diego for a diver in her early 20s, the Coast Guard said Saturday afternoon.

A Coast Guard helicopter and 45-foot response boat, along with a Fire Department helicopter, and a San Diego lifeguard dive team and boat crew, are searching an area about 1.5 miles off Mission Beach.

The diver was reported missing at 2:29 p.m. after she did not surface while on a dive trip aboard the 45-foot San Diego-based motor vessel Humboldt.
