Bear spotted snacking on trash, napping in Monrovia
A bear was spotted in a Monrovia neighborhood Thursday afternoon overturning a trash can and helping himself to a meal before moving to a tree for a nap.
The bear was observed in the 600 block of Shady Oaks Drive and is believed to be the same bear that visits the neighborhood every week or two -- usually on trash days.
The bear was captured on video rifling through trash and snacking. The bear then climbed a nearby tree, but left the area not long afterward, perhaps because a barking dog made it difficult to sleep.
